I'm sick again

Just switched off BBC 2. Another reminder of the 1974 Worldcup Football. Lost to the Germans. Ask any Dutchman about this and see a grown man cry Ah well, the 11th of June is our first match Hopes are high again

I could care less what they're saying on the Spanish Channel. There's more eye candy there than in an issue of Playboy Especially Barbara Bermudo She is the host of Permier Impacto during the week

My local paper just tagged The Netherlands as a fave for the final four. THe others were Germany, Brazil (winner!) Czech Republic with Portugal as a possible spoiler, if the stars are alligned.

I'll be watching!

I've been reading some disturbing reports in the New York Times about racism raising its ugly head at some of the European games due to the recent influx of black African players. What's the word on your side of the pond, Frans?

If I stare at the eye candy too long I hear some other words from Lydia. Seeing as this is a family oriented forum I'll just leave them up to your imaginations

I'm really not that much into football, except now, with big tournaments. The Dutch team under 21 just became European Champions for the first time. Peter isn’t much into football either I think, but he’ll speak for himself. Yesterday I received a booklet with my newspaper, containing all the details on the Worldcup (the US are in too, so pay a little attention tossers) and all the teams. If you add up the annual salaries of the Dutch team members (most of them play abroad), you could pay off the debt of a small African country

Just mustn’t stare, that's the trick. Glance casually, almost if you don’t care. My Anne always gets upset and starts saying things like: “Look at those wh@res, why do they bother to put clothes on anyway? If you can call that piece of string clothes!”. At that point you agree but not too strongly to avoid suspicion. “Yes, quite disgusting”. We have a large Summer Carnival (Brazilian and Caribbean) in Rotterdam each year in July. It takes every bit of strength to keep ‘glancing casual’ there. It’s the ultimate test

I a recent survey (published last Saturday, would you believe) 10% of the Dutch qualified themselves as a racist. We have problems here, that’s for sure. About 2 years ago, it was common for some idiots on the stands to make jungle noises and throw bananas on the field. Now they are removed quite rough by the police if that happens again. It stopped now. Football can turn a peaceful family man into a raving lunatic

Bah, stick-in-the-mud! Here everything is orange! You can't buy a single item anymore without it being attached to the Worldcup
