The X series is only sold at the dealer. It's a bit more commercial grade than the JD mowers sold at the big box stores. From the frame to the deck, it's much heavier steel. And the Kawasaki V-twins last much longer than the Briggs and Stratton motors you get in the home versions.

I'm shooting for 15 years on this one.

That's ideal! You made the right choice there. Saving a bit now only seems to cost more in the long run. In this day and age product lifespans seem to be getting much shorter. Having something that'll actually last is rather refreshing.

At least you can see green. Snow should be gone up here and it should be about 46 F here but it is 20 F and there is still snow. Last year at this time I had about 200 kilometers of cycling in and so far this year I have nothing.

They are forecasting ice and snow about an hours drive north of here for Sunday. Expecting low here in SE Arkansas around 32 F tomorrow night, then into the 80's by next weekend. Crazy spring here.

I am smack dab in the middle of Canada on the Prairies so some snowfall is not a big surprise for us here at this time but there should be no snow now and the melt should have begun over 2 weeks ago up here. Very odd.

I look at my bicycle daily and can't wait to start putting the miles on again.

Quality product. I had a second hand X300 from my late father in law and loved it. All of the X series are great. Enjoy!

BTW, did they give you any swag? At least a Deere baseball cap?

I grew up on a farm and as a kid, drove tractors a lot. John Deere was my dads choice of equipment for everything from lawn movers to 4 wheel drive behemoths. Bullet proof reliabilty

I bought a 5225 new in 2006 and sold it eight years later for what I paid for it. JD is the Rolex of ag equipment in these parts.
