Thanks all, glad you enjoyed the pictures. I might take and share a few more in the next few days while our vacation continues.
Some nice Rolex encounters while on this trip: - on the shuttle to car rental, a middle aged (but very fit) man with prosthetic right leg, bringing his bicycle along to train for a triathlon, complements my wife on her 116520 White dial and says he has the exact same watches that he left behind for this trip, and how he likes how rare it is. - at the hotel HHonors check in desk, I notice the gentleman next to me at the counter wearing a SubC, but I wondered to myself: that is a gorgeous watch, But is it perhaps a SD43? It just looks bigger than a SubC for some reason. It definitely looked bigger than my hulk. Most intriguing. But after many glances (trying to not look like a weirdo), I confirm that it was indeed a SubC... so here is my two cents for many SubC owners out there lusting after a SD43: your current SubC looks amazing and probably already looks pretty big on you if a big watch look is what you are after. Enjoy your SubC and forget the SD! - at the local arts gallery, owner lady directed us over to another more modern gallery a few doors down that belonged to her young son. When we went there, noticed the young son was wearing a beautiful DJ36 blue sticks dial with super Jubilee and fluted bezel. Simply gorgeous and fit him so nicely, looked like a DJ41 actually. I congratulated him on the store as well as his watch. He said it was a graduation gift and how he liked it as a do it all watch, which I agreed with whole heartedly. Then he complemented me on my hulk, telling me the story of how his dad really wanted one but it was hard to get, and how his mom ended up getting one from Oahu Rolex boutique after talking to the boutique manager or something, and how it made his dad so extremely happy! One of the beauties of Rolex brand and brand recognition is these interactions and stories that goes along with the ownership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
