anyone shop on chrono24? is it good
Thinking of purchasing a watch on a trusted seller on Chrono24http://uhren2000.de/ has anyone purchased anything from them before and what is the chrono 24 guarantee? is this better than buying on something like Ebay? peoples experiences and opinions gladly welcomed as I want to make sure to reduce my potential risk for paying lot of cash for something that is not the real deal

Chrono24 is nothing more than where a seller can post their wares. The site does not guarantee any sales and is just putting buyers & sellers together. You negotiate directly with the seller with no involvement from Chrono24, you are basically on your own with no protection. Having said that I be done two high $ transactions on with Chrono24 sellers with good results. I haven't done business with Uhren. So, my advise investigate the seller throughly as there is no safety net.

Kind of like asking is EBay good....It all comes down to the individual seller no different than any other universal marketplace. So like anywhere else including here buy the seller and do plenty of homework.

Agree - I was looking at an Omega Speedmaster Mark 4 a couple of months back. I was able to see the dealers name, that gave me enough info to get to their direct website & from there check out the seller

I have found myself and helped get others some amazing deals on amazing pieces from top notch sellers from ads on Chrono24. In fact a few weeks ago I helped a friend here get a double sealed 5131J well below market and from a superb dealer. So as I said it is no different than any other market place and one must buy the seller and do their homework.

Bought from sellers on Chrono24 without problem.
Do your homework regarding seller and watch before you buy.

It's just like any other for sale site, including TRF. Do your research and buy the seller.

When in doubt, don't do a deal.

Like all purchases it all boils down to "buy the seller". This is the most important point of any purchase

The fact that somebody is a trusted seller on chrono24 does not tell you anything and gives you no guarantees at all.
I would very much prefer to deal only with sellers who have a good reputation here on TRF.

Like others say it's just a marketplace for you to meet sellers and I also enjoy it to get a price range on watches I'm interested in.

x2, it means squat as they don't take down their "trusted sellers" even after several complains.

I recently bought a high end watch from a trusted seller via Chrono24 and very nearly lost all my money. It was a real seller and a real watch, but someone had hijacked their Chrono24 account and was responding to me using the same name of the real sales woman at the real store but using a similar looking e-mail address that was .biz instead of .com. I caught it after they asked me to wire money to an account in Spain even though it was a U.S. store. I called the store directly and it turned out their Chrono24 account had been hacked. I ended up buying the watch anyway and am happy with my purchase, but I almost lost several thousand dollars had I not been paranoid enough to verify everything multiple times. Thankfully I didn't buy the story of why the money had to be sent "to our European branch". I would have never seen that money again.
So it can be a useful resource but don't put any stock in the "trusted seller" label and verify and reverify everything. I always do this now. Recently did a deal with a very well known and trusted dealer through a listing on WUS, but I still took the time to e-mail him directly from his web page e-mail address plus again on a Facebook message just to make sure they were all the same person and they were all really him. |

I've bought a few watches from their site. 2 from the US and 2 from Portugal.
Had a good result every time. But I never buy watches worth more than a couple of thousand dollars from unknown parties. |

IMO Chrono24 should be used for looking at prices.
