This has been asked repeatedly I'm sure, but...

So I'm looking to get a new Sub..I think...own a TT datejust , and an old date which I get multiple compliments on presently. I was going to get a tt 41 dj , but think I need a whole different Rolex. Thinking of a new TT submariner blue or black. So I went to my AD and my salesman told me the TT blue sub was the highest Rolex watch in demand ( at least in subs I think) and hard to find. True or sales pitch? Thoughts ?

The Daytona is the hardest watch to get. The TT sub (blue or black) usually sit in my AD display for sale... and if you go Trusted seller you should get a decent discount. I wouldn’t buy a TT sub from an AD without a 10-15% discount. Two-tone gets far less love than stainless steel, but of all of the Rolex collection the 116613LB is the one to get.

Your AD is flat out lying to you. Find a different AD.

Not true, I’ve seen the bluesy in a lot of the ADs I stop into. Keep looking and you’ll find one.

More importantly are you going to keep the M2? Given the m2CWith the s55 engine?

Lol

Talk to a better dealer. Salespeople who say things like that don't have your best interest at heart.

Cool watch! Well liked! Not that in demand...as others said easy to find at a reasonable discount.

The Rolex Boutique in Houston had two in the display case on Friday. Deutsch and Deutsch, the AD I use (who also own the Rolex Boutique), had one in their case a week ago. I'd bet a beer it's still there.

Come to Houston, buy, ship it to LA and avoid tax. Let me know if you want my AD's contact info, no promises but I bet they'd work on the price with you. But they won't over the phone.

Not sure how a sales person could have demand numbers for the entire planet.

What do you think it was?

Like all good fiction, there is a grain of truth in his story. The bluesy is hot right now, at least in TT terms, and selling closer to MSRP than it ever has on the secondary market.

But "highest demand?" No, not even close.

tt residuals are awful.
If this is a keeper, buy new.
If you think there is a chance of flipping, go used.
Gorgeous watch, had one a few years back.

It's a well known model from Rolex, but it's not the hottest model out there.
If your AD is telling you that the bluesy is the hottest model for them, then wherever you live is immune from the SS shortage- I can see their display now- SS Daytona in both black and white dial, hulk, all kinds of SS models, and a sign out front saying "Pre-order the SS Pepsi now get 15% off and a wolf watch winder!".

Give me their contact info and I'll buy them all right now!

Love the TT Bluesy as well. I am looking to get the SD43 as my first Rolex but the AD I’ve been going to has had a bluesy in the case for about a week. They continue to tell me that the watch won’t last long and that it’s very difficult to get. I was wondering if the AD would discount this watch (given the mkt conditions) or should I go Grey for this one.

Bluesy is not part of the limited distribution protocol, but it is selling more because other subs aren't in stock.

Agree with this. I have always seen TT subs in the display case at any AD I've stopped by at recently.

Is the TT Bluesy one of the most beautiful watches Rolex makes? Absolutely. Is it the most in-demand or hard to find? No. Of the handful of ADs I’ve visited in the US and abroad over the past year, about 2/3 of them had a Bluesy in the display case. I recommend calling out-of-state ADs in the South or Midwest to find the best deal and avoid sales tax.

a new 18k Sub £25k, used one is £16k
a new SS Sub £6.5k.. used is £5.5k
a new Bluesy is £9.9k.. used is over £9k

so.. I see it as TT > SS > PM

I made the decision and bought the TT blue sub....no regrets. I personally don't buy my watches for resale.

i can find one in London, so there is your answer. If its here then its everywhere.

Personally i would not buy from any AD that straight up lied to me. Its one of the easier professional watches to find. Maybe harder to find than some other TT's but that was not how it was presented.

Yea, the Submariner is a hot model in SS with the LVc Sub being the hottest. In the TT Sub world, the Bluesy is more popular than the black so your AD was “kinda” telling a half lie. There is no shortage for any TT model so you can find discounts on them easily.

You think ADs are willing to discount the TT with the current overall conditions?
