Question for Sub-LV (Hulk) owners

I’m looking to add a modern sub into my weekly rotation, with a view to wearing around 3 days a week. The main draw for me being the glidelock clasp as I often struggle to get a decent fit on bracelets. If worn during on a week day, it will be with a suit, weekends I would be dressed fairly casually.

This has led me to the Sub C Date LV. I love the green sunburst dial. I like watches with that little bit extra (which the LV provides).

However, and while I know ultimately this is my decision and only I know the true answer, for those that own the LV and wear frequently, have you tired of the green over time and how have you found the versatility?

I was also considering the Sub-C, again for the glidelock, but feel the LV is that little bit more unique and less similar to my BLNR.

Thanks

It dress up nicely with almost everything. The dial is indoor almost black and doesn't attract to much attention.
I wear it daily my hulk

Incredibly versatile and have not got tired. Tremendous wrist presence. It could be your one and only.

I acquired my hulk a few months ago after going back and forth on the watch for years. So glad I did, love how diverse the dial is depending on the lighting conditions. As Cyclops said, inside it almost looks black, giving it sort of 16610LV look. Outside, the dial comes alive as does the bezel. Truly a unique take on the classic sub.

You're from Ireland? Are you supposed to love green?

I want to get one for the team color of the Super Bowl Champions this year, The Philadelphia Eagles!

Ha that’s one of the reasons I’m questioning the green! Don’t want to buy into the stereotype too much!

Thanks for all the replies so far.

Hey, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that part of my love for my 16710 Pepsi is due to the colors that remind me of my country. I say go for it, especially if you have others in the rotation. I want one too!

I love mine. The dial changes shades of green depending on the light and is always nice to look at. I never get bored of it.

It's a different colour virtually every time I look at it. Never the same in different lighting conditions. I wear it with all different outfits and 24 hours a day every day. Must be the most difficult watch to get bored of given the variability in its appearance.

I’ve owned one since it’s release and absolutely love it. It has one of the very best Rolex dials IMHO and that makes it one great watch to own!

I’ve owned the hulk for several years and I’m still in love with the dial and how it pops in the light

Got mine in October/November and I haven't tired of the green yet and I don't think I will. It changes so much from basically black to super bright green in the sun. Its hard to get bored of it and I find it more versatile than I thought it would be. Can easily be worn with any outfit.

Have owned for almost a year and a half, and still love it as much as the day I first saw it at the AD. Just a totally different watch (in a good way).

Close to 6 years with mine....I love it and could wear it as my one and only, no problem.

It's spectacular.

But, I also knew before buying it that I "NEEDED" to have it. If you're on the fence, maybe it isn't for you?

Here's a good thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=179580

Every single day now I think about this reference. It’s either a Basel ‘18 GMT of sooome iteration, or its this. I think either way I can’t go wrong if this is the choice. But hey, bunker down and reach for the DD40! That green is pretty good as well, although a little more subtle about it.

It's interesting because while I believe black face watches are more versatile......to be quite honest the watch has gone with anything from suit to jeans/white shirt and it's never felt out of place. Great watch.

I've had mine over a year and haven't tired of it. I may only wear it a few times a month though. Im fairly rough in watches and want to keep it looking crisp...

When you bought it back in 2010?, what were WIS attitudes towards this watch and was it true that AD's had trouble selling them due to the fact they weren't that popular? Heard they were heavily discounted also.
