Icon14 Brief Video Interview with a Vintage GS Collector

This guy packs a lot of info into three minutes. If you've ever wondered about collecting vintage Grand Seiko watches, this is a really useful and quite inspiring little presentation

Stunning, isn't it? Ref 6145-8030, with Seiko's first automatic 36,000bph movement.

Here's a post and pic from the same gentleman (photo is his own work). http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...321559&start=0

His website/blog is an interesting read too. Lots of info on one of the most underrated vintage watches out there.

Thanks, and yes indeed, that guy is great too. I just (after days of deliberating and some bargaining) bought a GS 6145-8000 from a Japanese dealer after reading his write-up on restoring a a 6145-8050. https://adventuresinamateurwatchfett...nd-seiko-6145/

Gerald is a well known collector, the history of his vintage GS collection and journey is very interesting. I think he shares this on his blog but before this GS adventure he owned some very high end Independents. He also now runs a commercial arm, selling vintage GS which he sources.

I saw this piece at Michael Young’s shop last year when I sent my vintage GS in for servicing. He let me look at it while I was there. It really has some heft to it...a beautiful piece indeed.
