I've been researching this question and have been unable to find an answer, so I thought I'd ask this group. Do all 1601 Datejust's have a fluted bezel? Or do some of them have a smooth bezel? I have one with a smooth bezel and, honestly, haven't come across another one like it...

1601 is fluted bezel. 1600 is smooth bezel. Not uncommon for the bezel to have been changed in the past out of personal preference or simply because the watchmaker reached into his drawer and found a bezel that fit.

Ah ha! Thanks! I prefer the smooth bezel myself. I think it looks a lot better.
