Datejust 36mm
So... I have been a watch aficionado for years and currently own 2 Rolex’s (SubC and 16710 Coke). I love those watches but have also always been fond of two-toned Datejust models. I would prefer to purchase a used 36mm but I am concerned about the size issue, my wrist is not large, although I am not a small man (joints are small). Show me your 36mm wrist shots if you have them and share your thought on weather or not the 36mm is still an “acceptable” size. The appeal of the smaller DJ is really that it was the original size.

My DJ36 in my 7.5 wrist, I love it but I tend to like ”small” watches:

My wrist is 6.5". Here's a picture of my 36mm (now gone) and my current 41mm. I think they both look fine.

I think 36mm is super tasteful. It was considered large just a few decades ago. I don’t buy the statement that people are that much bigger these days.

Datejust 36mm
Perfect watch—perfect size, perfect dial, perfect roulette date wheel—perfect. I decided earlier this year to drop the hammer on this watch, but it’s unavailable now, and if you can find it, you’re not getting any discount. Sigh ... for me. Buy what you want, when you can, and enjoy. BTW, on the issue of size, 36mm is perfect, and my wrist is just shy of 7.25, depending on the heat, my level of activity, and how many hot dogs I’ve eaten on any given day. Love this watch! |

I love the 36mm platform. Imho, it fits perfectly fine on my 7.50" wrist. This my 36mm DateJust Turn-O-Graph. I was attracted to the slate dial and vibrant red accents. Purchased new in 2011.
This is my other 36mm DateJust. A Christmas gift from this past December. Fun, satisfying watch. Love the smooth bezel and jubilee bracelet. |

7" wrist. 36 dj is perfect. 44 D-Blue and Pam? no problem. As long as you like it, size normally is not an issue

I had a 36mm 116200 DJ...had it for a year, always felt it was just too small....I find 39/40mm is the sweet spot....traded it for a 16570 EXP2 39/40mm....I also have a DJ41 which is the size I always wanted for a Datejust...

Excellent watch! I'm a major fan of the TOG which many dislike for some silly reasons. (Too small for a sport watch, not a dress or sports watch, bezel looks weird, etc.) Well, negativity be damned, it's a cool and unique piece. It's for cool and unique people.(maybe some VERY cool people) Wear it in good health sir. Best, Mark Sent from my SGH-I547C using Tapatalk |

If you have a 36mm DJ, as I do, then you find it an acceptable size. Wish I had a picture on my phone. It goes anywhere.

I own two tone 2017 36mm Datejust 116233. I have a small wrist. My second watch is a chrono 40mm. The 36mm looks fine and the 40mm chrono looks good as well. It's a personal choice. I feel that on a 6.5 wrist, same size as mine, a 41mm Datejust is too much. I'm wearing a 34mm Omega now. Bigger is not necessarily better!

Haven't measured recently but I believe my wrist is around 6.75", fairly flat. For a watch that leans more towards the 'dressy' end of the spectrum compared to a full-on sports watch (diver/chrono/etc.) I think this is perfectly proportioned for my size and coudn't be happier with the 36mm.
