My future wife is gonna kill me!

Hi, a few weeks ago i purchased a 2017 DJ 36 steel and gold, jubilee bracelet with black dial, fluted bezel.

Now i really love the watch even though it does stand out. Im not a flashy person but i believe in working hard and rewarding myself with what my eye likes :).

Anyway me getting this watch and spending so much, 4 weeks before i tied the not went down as well as a chocolate tea pot. I am due to get married in 3 weeks and i collected my wedding ring which is platinum and it does include diamonds.

For some reason the gold, steel, platinum and diamonds just aren't quite doing the peanut butter and jelly kind of thing (even though i've never tried that but you get what i mean). I went into my local AD in Birmingham UK and he showed me a Batman and it was the 1st time i'd ever seen one and i like! That along with the Sub non date i really like.

I never really put too much thought into how my left wrist would look before buying the DJ but i do think i am possibly going to have to tone down my watch which may mean selling the DJ and getting a BLNR or a Sub non date which to be honest, i think i would prefer.

Yes, give your soon-to-be wife the Datejust, the only Datejusts I ever bought were all for my wife.

BLNR and 114060 at the same AD at the same time.... in the U.K. on top of it??

But, I thought Rolex was rationing these references to increase demand by not actually selling any??

You are stepping into a world of absolute memory. Unless you want to be reminded for the years to come how reckless you were, wait for the next big event (hopefully a perfect healthy child in 9 months or so) and then get 2 watches for both of you.

Edited.

I agree with LINVS below. This shouldn't come between you unless there's a major financial reason.

Brother, it’s your money; you spend it as you want.

Yes, and you're not even married yet. If you can afford it, no problem.

You should probably head back there and buy now, figure it out later. Might be gone if you think too long.

Call off wedding, all current and future problems disappear, and you won’t have to pawn the Rolex to pay the attorney retainer fee.

Just a thought .............

Nah......... just kidding, give the DJ to her, get the BLNR

Not sure you want to take marriage advice from anonymous folks on the internet who happen to share your passion for watches. Myself included.

Stay single. Problem solved. Buy what you want.

you do understand why they call it the "confines" of marriage.

if I want confinement I'll get arrested.

Ahhhh the fatal error not checking all the colours!!

Good luck in your choice.

Wedding ring with diamonds? Unusual, or maybe I’m used to seeing guys with a plain band in gold or platinum? All steel DJ is the answer, though that’s only my opinion as I’m not a yellow gold or rose gold fan.

Your good lady will be cool about things, best wishes to you both most importantly.

For what it’s worth, I would get the wife a new DJ. Not your old one. Giving her a second hand gift which wasn’t bought with her in mind will not go down well.

Even if it means selling/trading in your current DJ, do that and get your wife something special (36mm with diamonds on the dial?)
