150k?+

Just thinking the one found the other day was quite well worn compared to this and the dial was faded (lovely though) and everyone was telling him to expect 100k

Condition is everything and to some people that’d be worth a whole load more than the other one.

This 6542 is one of the best I ever seen ... condition is too pristine to be true. I will buy this over a PN man.

It sold for €100,000 which was lower than I would've guessed. I could see this hitting 200k at a major auction. Am I crazy?

I think the buyer did VERY well for that.

Seems crazy saying that to me but given the rarity and condition I’d have thought the same as you. But then again people can speculate all they want it’s the big boys with the cash that hold the cards. If mr wealthy (quite common) could only afford 50k mr super wealthy (less common) could afford 200k but he has fewer competitors and the top offer will get it (as little as he can get away with.

I’d say there can’t have been that much interest in it. I’d never even heard of the seller until the recent grandfathers gmt thread. Maybe it’d have gone crazy at auction.

Agree. I had a deal with them once and I check their window at least once a year when I'm there. Great place.

Can someone verify that it doesnt have a service insert bezel/insert. The notches evenly placed on the bezel might depict a service bezel/insert?

The one at phillips that was recently sold had les notches on the bezel. Theres been some threads where the evenly placed notches show that its a service insert/bezel.

That is truly a nice watch to have, the buyer must have paid a hefty load of $$$.

Lucky guy.
