Introducing Seiko SLA017
Amazingly fit well with my 7’ wrist. I’m very happy I chose this legendary diver watch for my first Seiko.

Congrats on your entry to Seiko with what is anything but an entry level Seiko.
It looks great, how do you find the feel of the steel bracelet v. rubber v. leather straps????

Introducing Seiko SLA017
Quote:
Thanks. Quality of the Original bracelet seems ok but SLA017 suits better with straps IMO. Waffle rubber strap is pretty comfortable but I found my Bas & Lokes leather strap feels the best. I will probably go back and forth with these two straps until I find nice Natos. Cheers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I think straps are great too with the SLA017.
I bought a shark mesh bracelet which I think will look great too. I measured the lug width which is supposed to be 19mm but mine is only 18.7mm.

The dial kind of reminds me of a Rolex Date-Just but on steroids.

What a stunning watch. I just tried on my buddy's last weekend and instantly fell even more in love it it. Gotta add this to my dive watch stable.
Congrats!

Congrats and welcome to the club
I've been enjoying my SLA017 for roughly a year now and I'm still very much happy with it Design-wise it's 100% my taste Accuracy could be better - it's a bit on the fast side, but so are my two Speedmasters and at the end of the day, I'd rather see them gain than lose time In regards to your recent question re. SM300MC and size compared to the SLA017, it's hard for me to say as I don't have them both in front of me but I believe the SM300MC needs a little more room on the wrist for the additional 1mm diameter as well as the longer lugs (at least, optically speaking). My suggestion to you is that you try one on. It's a production piece and I can't imagine you'll have a hard time finding one at a local AD. Here's a photo I took for my Pictorial that doesn't tell the whole story but may still help to give you a rough idea (that's a 16600 in the middle)...
