However I twist and turn it, I have to agree, prices will very likely not come down again. Too bad, means I‘m out, I just can‘t rock a 10k watch as my daily and bang it up. Should‘ve bought earlier, but was not really sure if I‘d stick to this hobby.

For many people the 5-digit GMTs are the standard. Smaller case and more vibrant colors.

There are a lot of guys looking to sell ceramic GMTs including batman, on my local market. Prices are lower.

This is the new Pepsi effect. Ppl want the new movement, the new model. Considering that batman is almost the same price it makes sense. For a little more you get an upgraded gmt that everyone wants.

There's the usual, unhelpful, self regarding, self congratulating
going on here.

eg. "I'm glad I got mine when.......blah, blah, blah".

Well said. The more people tell me things will go up at this rate forever the more I am sure it is a bubble.

It's simple, isn't it?
Desireable, popular item, stops beng manufactured.
Desire for said object continues.

What will happen to values?.........err.

1960's E-Type Jag sold for about £3000.
Last one made in 1975.
Current values, around £150,000

It's not 'rocket surgery', is it?

When the stock market goes kaput these prices will drop some. We need another recession so I can get some 16710 cheap.

😂

Wow, some great Pepsi's! Thank you for all your responses. Funny that earlier on the T (subway) I saw someone browsing this very thread

Very true. The desire is growing day by day and this forum only make it worse. I think it is time to give in.

That is indeed my very fear if I wait longer. I have been closely following the prices of 16710 and 16713 since last year and everything just gone up so fast since October.

Yes, I saw that on another post and checked Bob's immediately. It does seems their prices are softening a little but still quite high compare to the Classified on TRF.

Now I understand and agree. Unfortunately I bought into the saying "it tastes so much better when you put work into it" Cost me dearly.

TAKE YOUR TIME, and Watch the Classifieds here on TRF. When you see one you like, check out the seller on the "Whos Who" section on this forum. If they check out, Pull The Trigger! If you are still a bit paranoid, use Paypal to make your purchase if the Seller will accept PayPal (the seller may ask you to cover PayPal costs, but it may be worth it to you).

Good Luck!
I am definitely going the TS or local dealer route. I made an amateur mistake earlier this year and took the eBay route. I was incredibly lucky that everything turned out ok, but the stress of waiting, and getting everything check out was nuts.

Yes, the process of saving and the discipline involved taught me a lot.

It's not sexy to talk about service but an important consideration when buying older watches.
Indeed! I did not plan well last time and the services cost stung me quite a bit.

I have noticed that the GMTc LN are inching up to mid 7000 lately. Do you mind if I pm you if I decided to go 6 digits?

Settling maybe a wrong word, I have tried on a 116710LN and the supercase is a bit too big for me.

I am two payments away in paying off my student loans - I always pay extra every month to paydown the principle... sorry I am drifting off... just day dreaming about a debt free life... unfortunately the Pepsi won't wait for me.

I've thought about the Tudor GMT but I am not sure if I can handle the thickness of the case... I am planning to check it out when it is released.

I don't think anything is going to head down anytime soon. Best option is to ALWAYS buy when you're ready and not try to time the watch market.

Yes, deep down I know it is going to happen, just in denial that the train is leaving that fast. The FOMO is so real now that the 126710BLRO is going for astronomical number.

This is the first time I hear that the BLNR values going down... that is another iconic GMT that I sometimes dream about.

My preference:
16710 > 116710 BLNR > 116710 LN

vs.

What I can afford today :
116710 LN > 16710 (in 3 months) > 116710 BLNR (in 3-4 months)
