My seadweller journey
I got my first seadweller about five years ago and I’ve loved them ever since.
My first was an accidental purchase as I was getting an Omega Seamaster regulated and the guy offered me 2k for it.I said maybe, but I’m looking for a seadweller in trade. He said are you interested in vintage,I said maybe and he pulled out of his safe a 1665.It was in rough condition but the dial looked sweet so I bought it,then had it serviced, and it came out rather well. At the time I was hung up on trying to get the perfect watch and was bothered that it wasn’t unpolished. Looking back, how many 1665s are.I wish I’d of kept it now but I got good money and moved on to a 16600.Then I had a 16660 for a few weeks and then another 16600. Never all at the same time by the way,I flipped then bought again until finally I got a mint unpolished full set 16600. I loved it but I think people who had one will understand when I say that I couldn’t get it to fit perfectly. It used to slide about my wrist or if I took a link out nearly cut my circulation. Anyway,I moved it on and was seadwellerless for a couple of months until today. A bit out the blue really but I got the chance of the latest seadweller, which is no mean feat in Australia, they’re as the proverbial unicorn poo. Jumped on it today, first impressions I love it and fits great,no slide and honestly doesn’t feel heavy in the slightest. Hope you like my pics and thanks for reading. Congrats...think I would’ve stuck with the 1665 personally, those pics of it are awesome ...hands down my favorite ref within the SD line though a matte 666 would be awesome also...was your 666 matte?
