Fun day at my AD...

So I went to my AD to get a couple batteries replaced in my Tag and other lower end watches I wear for sport.

The main reason I went was to look at diamonds for my (hope) soon to be fiancé. It was a great experience and I think I am beginning to narrow down my selection to a 2.5 oval with a very small halo.

Enough with the boring stuff, I also spend 50% of the time talking watches, looking/trying on, etc.

Towards the end he said hang on one second, but pleas don’t get excited. He brought out both a white and black Daytona that were already spoken for (trust me I tried real hard to buy both, at minimum, one). He knows my next piece is a blue skydweller and said he can get it in 6-8 months.

All in all, great day!

PS SubC date is mine!

Man why would he even tease you like that, just rude

What’d you think of the feel of the Daytona?

I specifically asked what does the diamond purchase do for my spot on a the white Daytona... he responded with not much... list is only about 10 deep and that’s what they keep it at

As long as the girls isn't also spoken for, all is good!

Love the blue SkyD, and best of luck with the proposal!

For what you are spending on a 2.5c center stone, I would be shopping around to different ADs. Jewelry is way more profitable than a Rolex for them. I think you might be able to find that Daytona fairly quickly elsewhere.

Two customers simultaneously aren’t picking up their Daytona’s? I’m doubtful... regardless, congrats on the acquisition to the OP.

Which Daytona dial looked better in person?

Yea I am working on being less cynical but you’re probably right here.

Sound like a fun day. Rare to see those two together at one time. Did you ask how long it would take if you wanted to purchase a Daytona?

I’m working on that. If I buy the whole ring from them I was to essentially be the next Daytona / blue sky dweller that walks through the door...if they can’t do that well...I may have to shop around a bit

Good. Lots of places sell diamonds and lots of places sell Rolex. Make it clear to them that you’re looking for a package deal with the white Daytona. No watch, no ring.

Seems common these days. Offer to buy a PM and pick up the Daytona of your choice.
