I’m so happy that I posted this question here and really want to say that I appreciate all the feedback.
I’m somewhat of a newbie to the world of watches. I purchased my 16710 about 18 months ago for $5500 (box with no papers). It was what I was able to spend at the time on a Watch. I would have taken the BLNR in heartbeat but it was literally double the price. The 16710 is in great condition, not sure exactly what year it was born in but it’s one of the later years with the lug holes in the case. As much as it wouldn’t have been my first choice, I did fall in love over the past 18 months and while I would have easily done the trade and not even thought about it, I now find myself in a different situation and TRF has affirmed that for me. Thanks! |

If all things are equal, value, condition, box and papers I would have to decide which I prefer. I would be inclined to keep what I have as finding it again might not be easy.

I would not do the trade & when time is right send it off to an RSC so you receive the authentic service papers/card with little to no polish.

No way, I made that mistake and won't do it again. Rolex may never make the Coke again. You will miss the red.

KEEP IT. Save for a BLNR. (If you really have the itch, ask your buddy to trade watches for a morning at work, by lunch time I think you will appreciate having your 16710 back your wrist.) |

No way! the 16710 is probably the most versatile watch Rolex ever made. 3 time zones, a compass, 3 bezel color options that change out in minutes and the choice of oyster or jubilee. It truly is a modern classic.

I sold the coke about 5 months after I got the BLNR, unfortunately it was 18 months before the prices skyrocketed. My point is...If you can, compare the 2 side by side before making your decision. |

I’m all about wearing instead of collecting, and I only wear what speaks to me. If the BLNR floats your boat, maybe trade for a week or two. Audition the BLNR, see if you miss your 16710, and go from there. While it’s tough now to replace any SS Rolex, it’s definitely tougher to replace a 16710 right now.

I have a BLNR but would not swap your Coke. As it has been written, BLNR is still produced and you can buy it. Add, don't swap!

Since you're asking, I wouldn't. I prefer the ceramics and if I were to get a multi-colored bezel I'd get the one that makes sense. A BLNR.

Value wise they are the same imo. I would try on the BLNR or perhaps ask your friend to swap for a week, then decide. Many factors here which only you can determine, including: bezel material difference, size difference, weight difference, etc.
At the end of the day, it’s what sings to you the most. One is a classic now, and I have no doubt the BLNR will be a classic later. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Would probably do the trade; BLNR prices will probably hold higher and the Coke / Pepsi prices think will go down a bit again, so think the BLNR would be worth more

I just had a choice between 14 year old 16710 and an almost bnib BLNR.
BLNR (although a beautiful watch) did nothing for me. Coke sang really loudly!!

BLNR is far more rare and scarce than the 16710 which was made for around 17 years and there are hundreds of thousands of them.

Going against the flow here. I like the looks of the 5 digit references but on the wrist these always disappoint me.
Yes I would do this trade for the more quality feeling of the 6 digit. (Just a feeling, I know ) There are much more 16710's made than BLNR's, neither is a rare piece and never will be.

If you have papers I'd hold onto it. They'll likely only continue to appreciate.

It sounds like you originally wanted the BLNR but settled for the coke. Here is your chance to get what you really wanted at no additional cost. Don’t let the fact that the 5 digit GMTs skyrocketed in price sway your decision. I would say do the trade.

Nope, I would look to add the BLNR if you can!

Would you trade your 16710A for a BLNR?
Keep the Coke! The Rolex’s Batman doesn’t have that pedigree the Coke has. I’m looking for a Coke with jubilee band. Love my Pepsi

16710 over the BLNR.
The thinner bezel with the red renders it a more 'elegant' design than the BLNR (just my opinion). And as others have said, your 16710 looks to be in pretty good condition. Moving it on for something that is reasonably available (albeit at greater price), doesnt seem to make sense. Otherwise, and this is just something particular to me, i wouldnt go on trying to save for another GMT Master even if it is the BLNR you are looking at. If i were in your position i would move on beyond Rolex and try something else in the BLNR's price band (i.e: at that budget, youre looking at a decent number of options). Variety is the spice of life right! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |

Don’t see the post to move to a blnr. I think own both and see which one you like. Personally I think they offer something different. If you had to sell one for the other, I strongly recommend you to keep the 16710.
