I purchased my coke 6 months ago. It to me is so damn cool. BLNR is not even on my radar. I personally don’t see all the hype about the color scheme of the BLNR. I love the black and red on the coke and I will be keeping mine for a long time!

Missed out on a BLNR today at a local AD. Guy was just paying for it. He walked over and talked a bit as I was looking at what they had. Apparently they had just received it before lunch and he was the first person to come in to check out the watches. If only I came in an hour earlier....

I agree with wouldn’t do it crowd. Ive been watching them pretty closely and the price has only been going in one direction

Yubier - you asked what year your 16710 is. Look at your dial -- it reads SWISS. These were the GMTs produced from 1998-1999/2000 and used luminova for the lume. GMTs prior to 1998 used tritium phosphorescence and were marked SWISS - T<25. GMTs after used Super Luminova and are labeled SWISS MADE. Assuming that yours isn't a replacement dial, that's your answer. See the post COMPARISONS BETWEEN THE ROLEX GMT and GMT II MODELS in the Rolex Reference Library sub-forum.

I have one as well, from 1999, and won't part with it for anything.

I have both. Although my BLNR sees more wrist time than the 16710 (I love the color scheme of the BLNR) I don’t think I’d give up my 16710. The versatility it offers with the ability to choose between 3 bezel inserts is unmatched. In the summer, I throw the blro insert on it. In the fall winter, coke is on. Sometimes for the hell of it, I’ll pop the LN insert even tho I have a 6 digit LN. something about that black bezel and red gmt hand combo I love.

Keep it. The 16710 is special. If I were u, if u don’t already, get the LN and blro inserts and swap them out. It’s like owning a whole new piece. I happened to have a gmt addiction so that’s why I added the blnr.

Keep the 16710 for these reasons. Cheers!

I guess I'm the odd man out here. I'd do it in a hearbeat.

I wouldn't do it. It's a better looking watch than any that came after. Which, unless Rolex cans the maxi thing will be further reflected in the price in years to come - As more people notice, and think to themselves; 'Bloody hell. It's a better looking watch.'
