Gold clasp on TT sub?
Been looking to add a TT sub blusey for some time. I prefer the 16613 over the newer subs. I kinda like the idea of a TT sub without gold on clasp becaus it wouldn’t scratch as easily. I do think having gold on the clasp makes the watch look more complete, but The scratches!! I have a gold day date so I know how soft that clasp can be.
Can experts here chime in on your experience? Anyone got a TT sub without gold clasp end up regretting? Thanks for your inputs. |

I've had a 116613, and yes it scratched but you will get scratches on any watch, regardless of material. Just get what you like. I personally much prefer the continuity of the continued gold through the clasp.

I wore an early 16613 from the mid 80's with the SS clasp. Probably did hide scratches better than the polished gold. Had 5 LB's over the years. Honestly, I prefer the gold on the clasp. Just looks more balanced.

Gold clasp on TT sub?
I also have a 16613lb and prefer the gold through the clasp. You can polish out the scratches every 10 years or so when you service it. It just looks more complete and balanced imo. Also, the SS clasp never came with a no holes case. If you are looking for anything newer than the early 2000’s it will have the gold through the clasp.
What good is a thread without pictures?! It’s a beautiful reference. Cheers!
