114300 black vs 214270
Dear Rolex fans!
This is the final decision, I need Your professional suggestions. Searching for the very comfortable watch on everyday. I always wear strict classical suits. The watch has to be classical too. But comfort is on the first place, because don’t want to take them off, even while doing fitness or swimming, or sleeping. Only 2 models of Rolex, after lots of models trying in AD on my hand, suit me well: 1) 114300 (black dial) 2) 214270 Exp1. What do You think? 114300 black vs 214270 Explorer 1? What are pros and cons? Many thanks! |

They're both beautiful pieces.
I have the exp i... It has just this small touch of sportiness with the 3,6,9. Which works nicely with jeans and beach, and formal enough with its simplicity for those evening events. Unbelievably comfortable and tough. One big advantage the explorer has over the OP, is the bracelet. The exp i has an easylink, which gives you 5mm in length for those warm days, in addition to the folding clasp to avoid accidental opening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

114300 black vs 214270
Both are great pieces. If your choice is about black dial I would chose Exp if you value the sports side of it, if you prefer a more formal watch OP would be the choice.
I think that it is not a key deciding factor but take in consideration that clasp on Exp is enhanced because easylink, double lock and non embossed crown. In my case if I would like a black dial I would chose and Exp and It would be a hard choice between OP and DJ for white dial. |

But how I know, do I really need this Easylink?

In my case I rarely use the easylink but it’s there, the last time that I used it was 3 weeks ago in a very long flight that I felt the watch a bit tight.

i have the explorer 1 and do use the easy link from time to time. i have 7 1/4 inch wrist and like my watch LOOSE (more than most people). i usually wear with the easy link out (it is summer and warm) but put the link in when it gets really cool like in a mall or anywhere indoors with AC. it is not the glide lock, but better than not having anything like my Omega seamaster.
ALSO, i was torn between the explorer 1 and the blue dial OP, IMOP the blue dial OP seemed to wear nicer (in terms of feel), BUT i went with the explorer bec of the hands and the bracelet. love to own both really. |

Dude, either one will be great fun and pleasure to wear, and either one will suit your needs perfectly. This is the easy part of the decision because all you have to do now is answer the question to yourself: which one do you like better?
Have fun choosing and wearing your new Rolex! |

If you do plan on wearing suits a bunch - my vote is OP. You’ll love either one.

Based on your criteria I think the OP is a better fit, but if you've not already seen them both in the metal I can't recommend doing so strongly enough.
I agree with the comments above re. the dials and bracelets, but would add that the bezels on these watches differentiate them more than you might expect (certainly more than I had). The domed bezel on the 114300 lends a softer overall impression to the watch despite the fact that it shares a case with the 214270. The smooth bezel (to my eye) gives the Explorer a slightly sharper, more defined presence. While I'd say the OP is easily more "classical" with the elegant simplicity of its dial, the bracelet and bezel tip the scales I the Explorer's favour for me. |

Dear friends! Have been at AD and made some final photos before buying one of these 3 amazing watches. What do You think? Which one suits me more? And why (I need some pros and cons to hear from You, it's very important for me)? Many thanks!

Personally, I would take the Explorer. I just think it looks the sleekest, coolest. Not too formal like the Datejust and not too plain like the OP; the OP does not look unique to my eyes. Just my opinion. I think the Explorer looks great in casual settings and dress settings.

If you wear classical suits, maybe the OP39 is a suitable and discreet option.

For me it comes down to the dials. Do you like the 3/6/9 numbers and the matt dial on the explorer or the black sunburst on the OP? The sunburst black is awesome! Even looks dark grey in some lighting.
As for the DJ you posted.....nice watch BUT the lume ia not good condition mpared to the explorer and OP. All ththe green markers do not hve lume |

That DJ with the roman numerals is my least favourite of the bunch.

Love the Explorer.
Side note - we need more shots like this. Gives better perspective on the size and look of the watch on the wearer, rather than close up shots. I think I'm gonna start...as soon as I figure out how to post photos lol |

normally I would pick the 214270 but if you are dressed as you normally would be....get the black OP39.

Because you are usually in a suit, I would definitely go for the OP. The black dial version you are trying on looks really good but have you considered the white dial version?

I don't have white at my AD now. But in white there are black dots, which I think, like green, orange or blue dots in other OP models are too disbalanced from the all watch face. |
