Proven seller from Europe?
Dear Collectors,
I'm looking for ref. 5513 from 1985. Are you able give me a hint regarding the proven seller from Europe? I'm based in Europe. Thanks. Last edited by PanMaRelaks; 17 July 2018 at 06:48 AM.. Reason: Ref. 5513 |

I'm quite certain Rolex stopped making 5512s in 1978.

Hmmm ... Sounds sarcastic.
In any event, there are many good sellers of vintage Rolexes in Europe. I'd suggest looking, with caution, at Chrono24. Then if you find a watch you're interested in, just do a ton of homework on the seller and check references. You can also look on the Rolex Passion Market, which lists several reputable dealers based in Europe. Good luck in your search. |

Ah, OK, then apologies. And it sounds as if you're on top of your search.
If you're looking for a 5513 from '85, note that those early gloss dials with the WG surrounds on the hour markers are prone to spidering and other odd aging issues. Tough to find clean original dials from around that time. Good luck. |

Aaron thanks for reply. I think you are right regarding spidering. Do you know from which year 5513 has no issue with spidering?

I'm not sure any gloss dial from the '80s into the early '90s is completely immune to spidering. I once had an early '90s 16710 GMT that had some slight spidering/cracking on the dial surface. Could be random. Not sure. |
