SubC bracelets can still break, as we've seen on TRF. The world is full of 30 and 40 year old 'flimsy' Rolex bracelets doing daily duty.

Or even 50 years old...



The clasp on the newer bracelets will be a major point of failure over the years.

I love my A Series Sub Date!

It has hollow end links and holes in the lugs.

My foray in to the six digits didn’t last long.

I found the extra bulk and weight a distraction.

The main reason I like the five digit Subs, however, is that they are the last of the true tool watch Submariners, the five digits having arrived before dive computers were widely accepted. By the time the six digits arrived, the dive computer was the standard and dive watches were an anachronism.

So, by my standards, for all their improvements and shiny heft, the six digit models are well separated from the days of Rolex as a proper dive instrument.
