Rolex Collection aspiration

Looking to form a Rolex collection of 3 watches, centred around my first Rolex, a GMT-Master 2 BLNR.

Options centred around having:
Sea, Land, Air (GMT); or
Casual, Dressy-ish, beater

Thoughts?

I would do the second option.. the land, sea, air gets pretty repetitive for my taste... If you have the BLNR thats your casual. Dressy i'd go with a dj, dd, or a cellini (strap for suit or dress down), and a better i'd go with an explorer I or II, mil, or ak.

I voted white Daytona and OP, but suggest Blue instead of Rhodium OP.

But seriously...consider another brand for the 3rd...IWC, GO, JLC, etc.

I picked the BLNR/Other/Other option. I took some inspiration from your options, so I'd go with the following:

BLNR, Daytona 116520, 114300 OP White.

The new white dial OP is stunning, I like it way better than the Rhodium.

The white dials are stunning! I just am not a fan of the new black-only ceramic bezel option for the Daytonas. Colour options have been an internal battle with myself. I almost bought the Explorer2 with white dial because I did not want a black dial watch...until I saw the BLNR, which had the subtle contrast between the black-blue bezel which offered more than the same old black-on-black. I love blue, and wanted a blue dial YachtMaster, blue dial OP, blue dial DJ. I literally have over 60% of my shirts in some form of blue. I like the white dial OP and DJ, but just thought the Rhodium was a more versatile yet less-flashy option.

Still torn. Doubt the itch will ever be satisfied, but I'm more than content to scratch repeatedly. Thanks for the suggestion and nod of confidence!!

Daytona for sure, but may I ask why you don't have a LVc and/or DJ41 listed for choice 3?

BLNR, 520, DJ41 W/B/R would be an awesome set.

BLNR + Daytona 116520 White + SubC Date

but for me I would choose:

The concept of an all green watch doesn't really appeal to me...and naturally my love for a blue bezel-dial combo is only offered in the extremely unaffordable white gold. Don't really care too much about the date option on the Sub, but if it is to be my beater watch (which it would be with a BLNR and Daytona) then I would want the date.

I could really care less about the DJ. The only real appeal it ever had for me over the OP is the Jubilee bracelet, but as a dress watch I would most likely replace it with a leather band, probably blue so that I wouldn't have to change between black and brown (I don't mix the two) which would make a light dial such as rhodium or silver or white pop nicely but not too extravagantly. Speaking of extravagant...I hate the fluted bezel. I also don't really like the date cyclops for a dressy watch (which I see as a sport-watch function), which is why I would choose the OP over the DJ.

I'm picky for all sorts of small reasons

None of the above....

1) Flip the BLNR for a new Pepsi +
2) Black Daytona (ceramic or non-ceramic) +
3) 116610LV

Hate the Pepsi red Love the blue dial option, but I have barely seen this come to reality, would only get it with the SS vice WG option...and after all that and the inflated price, would STILL have that nasty red. Flipping my BLNR isn't gonna happen, especially not for a BLRO.

Not into Black Daytona, and a Ceramic bezel is only black...so even if I had a white dial it would have that big black dial with the black sub-dial outlines. Ne pas!

Hulk is the nicest of these three options to me, but I would get the Sub as a beater and find the all green too loud for what I like. Gimme a non-WG all-blue Sub...and NOW we're talking!!!

How about Tudor Pelagos blue? Does it fall into your designated category? If not, I think you need the BLNR only in the current stage.

Huge fan of the YM Rhodium dial and as a bonus you probably won't have to sit on a waiting list to get one. Wouldn't make it my only Rolex but think it would be great for a 3 Rolex collection. BLNR and White DaytonaC would be a killer 3

Yes and no. I've eyed that beauty up for a while, but the whole point of choosing Rolex was that it was "affordable" and robust while it's value would stay strong over time vice depreciating.

I'm certainly not opposed to a Pelagos blue, or even a Black Bay 41 blue as a beater, just not for me, especially not instead of the Sub. It's either a $4700 or $3000 dent out of a $9750Cdn 16610LN. I'd rather spend twice the money and have the Sub.

I did say I was picky, didn't I?!
