Wow! A classic piece on a classical musician. A career you love, an upcoming wedding and a family like yours - life must feel pretty good right now huh? What a gesture - make sure you appreciate those special people and that special watch.

Congratulations!

(amazing story) you write in the title. I did think to myself, I highly doubt that it is such an amazing story. However I was proven wrong. This was an amazing story and I am very happy for you.

Also because your family purchased the Submariner for you, you still have all your hard earned cash left that was suppose to go to the Submariner. That tells me it is time to add Rolex number two. Perhaps a GMT-Master? They got a very similar look as the Submariner but polished center links on the bracelet, and the amazing ability to track two time zones. For a travelling musician like yourself, this would be the perfect watch to add to your collection. Or perhaps a Datejust for those dressier occasions

Awesome! The Kremer set is probably amazing. Gould as well. I’ve been working my way through the Gerrard Schwarz (I play in one of his orchestras) collection Naxos just realeased (30 cds of mainly out of print recordings). The Strauss cds are incredible and his trumpet playing from when he was in the nyphil is insanely good. Some really cool not usually heard stuff on there. Highly recommend!

Among other things, I have been collecting all the classical music releases on the ECM New Series label since 1984. Last summer, I bought the 78-CD box set of the complete Columbia recordings of pianist Glenn Gould. A few weeks ago, I purchased the complete concerto recordings (on the Deutsche Grammophon label) of violinist Gidon Kremer. Anyway, I digress, lol. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your terrific new Sub Date! Regards, -Rick.

Absolutely. It’s about way more than just the watch. Although I must say the watch is incredible :)

Thank you everyone! I wouldn’t have even thought it was possible to get this watch without trf. Been addicted ever since I found the forum. Love the positivity and reading about everyone else’s watch experiences inspired me. My dad said he would have never even thought about the watch as a gift had I not saved up and been able to budget for it myself so I owe it to TRF! Can’t wait to read about all of you and your next incomings.
