Do the celebrities buy, or just... receive?

Hello All.

Naïve question.. Do you believe that the rich and famous purchase their Rolexes, or do they just receive them (for free) in the mailbox ? :)

Unless a brand Ambassador (i.e. Tiger Woods, Roger Federer), they pay like everyone else.

They pay. Had a conversation with local AD about how some had to wait for watches like Rainbow daytonas, steel daytonas etc.

They pay, but we can almost guarantee there is no waitlist or line for them (celebrity dependant).

A member of a band that lives near me (top 3 band of all time, been around for decades) gets given various watches when on tour. Not Rolex but very blingy ones that cost say 40k but if you tried to sell it you’d get 10k back.

How do I know? Because a few time she’s given them to his housekeeper whose then sold them to a grey dealer near me, so yes famous people do get given them.

I once had a watch that was previously owned by a fairly well known NBA player. He did pay for the watch, but got a significant discount, something like 40% IIRC. Also, the watch was purchased and shipped directly from Rolex USA in New York City.
