Small white dots/particles on brand new Rolex Submariner Date 116610LN

Hi all

New to the forum and the world of Rolex.

Just got a new Rolex Submariner Date 116610LN as a morning gift on my wedding day and I have discovered some minor white dots on the dial and bezel that only shows in a particular lighting. Is this normal? If not, any ideas on how to approach this? Take it to an AD and hear what they can do? The watch was bought in Spain and I live in Norway.

Best

I had one white dot between the 1 o’clock and 2 o’clock that appeared after a week on my 116610. It was likely dust or some sort of particle. Anyway, it was stuck there for a week so I made plans to take it to the AD. When I got there it was gone. The technician speculated that it became unstuck and went into the date opening. They sent it to a RSC—probably to clean/vacuum the inside. I was without the watch for a good 3 weeks from what I remember

Have you tried washing it with soap and warm water?

A) Wash it with warm soap and water. Don't dry it with any abrasive material but rather something very soft.

B) If not gone, take it to an AD in Norway. Your warranty is international.

If it’s the same problem as my watch then the dots would be inside the watch. Although now I’m not clear where exactly the dots OP is talking about are—outside the watch (crystal and bezel) or on the dial itself (inside the watch)

No way there is that much crap inside the watch, and the edges of the cyclops look pretty grimy. Your watch needs a good bath. Dishsoap and a soft toothbrush should do the trick.

Looks like hair spray or something, just wash it as others said and you'll be fine.

Great! A couple of times of washing with warn water and dishwashing soap did the trick! Thanks guys!

On another note: Should one put any form of protecting material/polish material on the watch or just leave it as is?

No, had no idea

Yes, got the crown fully screwed in and have read the cleaning section - did not go away with just water. Needed some dishwashing soap. Thanks again. It’s back to its perfect state. Just have to wait for that famous first scratch no I guess..

Is it me, but the dial looks off. Also, it doesn't seem to be aligned correctly.

Are you sure it's 100% authentic? I don't think it's real...just my opinion.

Care to share more pictures of it?

I thought the same thing, in that pic the indices look huge, the dial type and the beveled edge of the crystal look funky...

Yes, you should polish it with the “Tears of a Clown”! Others will argue Unicorn Tears...don’t believe ‘em. In my experience, that will just cause your watch to vanish into thin air as if it was a figment of your imagination!

All kidding aside, enjoy that sporty Beautiful new Wife of yours!

Wait...what...does that say Wife? Damn!t...was totally supposed to say Watch...I meant Watch!!! Clearly my auto correct had a Freudian slip....Hehehe!!! Ether way, congrats Buddy!

No leave it as it is. Stainless steel doesn’t need to be oiled like other types of steel you may have in the kitchen etc.

Get a couple of micro fibre clothes though which are designed for jewellery to use for drying or wiping the watch when cleaning.

Once you’ve had it for a while you will be much more relaxed wearing and enjoying

Probably just parallax and a very over exposed, slightly out of focus picture with flash
