Help me, please. Scratch on my new Rolex sapphire...

Dear friends! Help me, please. After 3 days of wearing my new Rolex I got this big scratch on the sapphire glass. How? I can't understand. What can I do to deal with this situation? To go to the AD? To service? Or polish this glass myself? Many thanks!

What on earth did you scratch it with!?? A diamond?
Sorry about the scratch though, my best bet would be to contact your AD to see what they recommend.

When you run your finger nail across it, can you feel the scratch?

the watch is ruined, sell it. joking aside, contact RSC for glass replacement, AD is not obligated to do anything.

First sapphire scratch I've seen in awhile. That'll need to be replaced.

Your wife diamond ring is the first suspect.

Ouch, that looks like a need for a new crystal, unless you can live with it until a service (5+ years)...

I would recommend sending to your nearest Rolex Service Center for them to replace the sapphire crystal.

A wife with a diamond ring is the number 1 offender. Sapphire is hard, but not diamond hard. Otherwise i can't think of much that should put a scratch like that unless it was a bump you'd definitely remember. A polish from your AD of the sapphire may help

Did you bump a wall and it’s a paint residue?

Geez bro...personally as crap as that is, I'd just put up with it until service. That'll learn me a lesson.

You´re gonna have to scratch with something harder than the glass itself there is no doubt about that. For our reference how did you scratch it ? I´ve never seen a scratch that deep it cannot be polished by yourself.

On the sapphire? I wouldn't make that guarantee.

Help me, please. Scratch on my new Rolex sapphire...

Scratched my OP39 last year after having it for only a month or so. Sent it to NY RSC and had a new crystal installed. Cost about $315...

That’s actually really reasonable all things considered with pressure testing.
