Have you averaged out your actual fuel economy over a tank of gas? Sometimes those on-board computers are overly optimistic.

I had a Camry hybrid XLE that I liked very much. I would average about 38mpg in mixed driving and that was with the A/C blasting and my overly heavy right foot. Best I ever saw over one tank of gas was 48mpg and I was really trying hard to get the best out of it.

The last trip to Palm Springs cost us like 280 in gas....She got an MB this time and we looked at their plug in GLC but wanted to wait a bit to see how they do. I test drove a Cayenne E plug in and that was a cool ride. We will see a bunch of e and hybrid cars coming from the Germans in the next few years.

My AMG gets terrible mileage :(
I average around 19-20mpg from my E550 Coupe which isn’t bad considering it is a V8 engine.

I'd drive a boxer 6cyl, considering how cheap a 997 is compared to here... And the petrol prices would be the cherry on the cake

Premium fuel today at my local station = €1.769/liter....or $7.81/gallon.

I was stationed in Germany twice. If we Americans only knew how spoiled we really are. Thing is though given our land mass and current state of public transportation it's a good thing we are.

I'm getting ready to sell my TDI Golf back to VW and need a replacement.

I took a 2019 Honda Insight for a test drive. I liked the car a lot but the disconnect between the sound of the engine and the rate of acceleration would take some getting used to. Most of the time the powertrain functions like a diesel electric locomotive with no link between the gas engine and front wheels.

My V8 Corvette gets 30mpg on highway @ 70mph, and around 20mpg city driving. Gas is $3.25 a gallon.
I drive conservatively, so that’s economical enough for me.

Porsche's Tesla competitor, previously called Mission E, is now the Porsche Taycan. It's coming in 2020.

https://www.popularmechanics.com/car...on-e-electric/

I'm considering this "Electric Car" I spoke to Porsche and they are taking orders NOW!

Update, August 2018:

Porsche just released some new specs about the upcoming Taycan electric car. As expected the electric sedan will make more than 600 horsepower in total system power and come with 800-volt charging capability, which will give the car enough juice to go 400 km. (248 mi.) in just 15 minutes of charging. Overall, Porsche proclaims an electric range of 500 km. (about 310 mi.) and a 0-100 kph time of three and a half seconds.

Porsche says it has built "three figures" worth of Taycan prototypes altogether.

My Lexus CT hybrid is pretty economical, to be fair though it’s a 2 mile round trip to work and back everyday. Longest I’ve gone without refuelling my car was around 3 months. Go figure lol
