Removing Oysterflex
I will be getting my father a well deserved present soon and being that his favourite is the Daytona that is what I will be getting him. I would really like to get him the white gold on oysterflex with steel dial, my question is how easy is it to remove the oysterflex bracelet? I would assume it is similar to removing a strap or bracelet? The reason I ask is because it will be his only watch and in a black tie setting I believe he’ll want a strap.

It is just a springbar, just wedge a knife or screwdriver in between and pop it out.

When you do the change, please post some photos. I would love to see a 116519 steel dial on black leather! |

That’s actually the reason I asked. I had a feeling it would be something an AD would have to do. I was trying to avoid that, bit of a PITA because I know he’ll want to change often. Perhaps the Oysterflex Daytona’s are out of the running sadly

Don't let that eliminate a great watch from consideration. With the proper springbar tool, it's a 30 sec DIY job.

Too bad he is not into Vacheron Overseas, sounds like they have the perfect system for your dad's switching needs.

IMO, OF or leather doesn’t matter all that much as it isn’t a dress watch anyway. OF can look just as smart with a suit. OF Daytona and an aquanaut are about the only two watches on rubber I would wear with a suit WG OF Daytona is by far my favourite Daytona too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
