Rolex service centre

I spoke to the uk service centre today. I mentioned the concerns i have with the stretched bracelet on a 20 year old 16233 datejust .I asked how much it would be for a service and a possible new Bracelet ,the guy said we re pin bracelets ?? what does that mean ? he advised a service is now £240 gbp plus what ever they may find what do you think

It means that they take the old link-pins that hold it together out and replace them with new pins..

Much of the wear is caused by the link-pins being worn down by constant metal-to-metal wear..

I spoke with Rolex HQ London and Watches of Switzerland - Bond Street. Instead of replacing the bracelet you can have what is refered to as a rebuild. WOS quoted a starting price of around £900 subject to individual estimate.

I was told they resmelt the gold and replace all the links.

Lyons Jewellers in Croydon informed me that a new bracelet would be somewhere in the order of £2,000. From a purly financial perspective, it is probably not worth doing. But at some point Rolex will advise that the bracelet needs to be replaced. Therefore there is always the other option!
