There is not a lot to work off of, the markers and hands are quite small, especially compared to a GMT or Sub.

The Daytona is a fantastic watch but readability be it day or night has never been it's claim to fame....

That was one of the first things I noticed about mine. The lime is pretty weak but I guess it’s because of the relatively small markers

Agree with the other comments about smaller markers and narrower hands compared to some of the other sport/tool watches.

The diving watches and Explorer II, watches where legibility in low light conditions are integral to the purpose of the watch, excel there.

Odd, but every time I look to see what date it is on my Daytona, oops. Anyone else make this mistake who owns a Daytona?

If lume is your thing...I’d say you might want to pick the right Daytona.

Here is an example of one I had years ago and never wanted for nighttime lume.
