My AD pulled out something special...

Wasn’t on my radar, but my AD knows me well. I tried it on and love it, but it’s a bit heavy. Granted, 3-4 links will be removed, which will lighten it up abit.

Are these difficult to come by? Every precious metal Rolex I’ve purchased has lost a lot of value.

Thoughts? Feedback on anyone who might own a solid gold GMT would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Great piece but not too difficult to find. I’ve tried on 3 at 3 different ADs in the past 10 months. Awesome piece, just not for me.

Pretty watch, but I’d guess it will be one of the slowest sellers in the line-up over the years it’s produced. That’s just my hunch.

ADs can order them. If you pass on this one they can get you another.

Great GMT no less.

It's a beautiful watch! Don't think any PM watch will appreciate or even maintain its value over time.

Gorgeous! Don’t bother the resale value. Just ask for a good discount.

This is a buyers market for PM models. If funds were available for me I would stock up now then reap the rewards when the bubble bursts

Looks great ! Go for it if it’s what you want, but not just because it’s ‘there’

It’s a beauty. But like wearing a gold bar on your wrist. Any idea what it weighs?

My thought are that every now and then Rolex releases a very special reference. This is one of them. I didn’t pass it up. And I have no regrets.

If you have the desire and own the funds, why not? This is definitely spectacular, personally speaking the most beautiful Rolex presented at this year's Basel, my opinion.

It was either that Rose Gold GMT, the Rose Gold DAytona, or the Rose Gold Day DAte…

I choose the Daytona, but the RG GMT is a Stunning Piece! Especially if you can get like 8% off retail...

x2

Great piece though

Personally I'd be happy to buy pm watches with at least 15% disc

Cool watch. Waiting to see what the price will drop to on the used market. But in the end, I think the Smurf will age better in the long run.

A good looking watch but the RG is difficult for a lot of people, myself included. Depending on your skin tone it can look great or it can look off. I owned a RG Daytona and it did not look as good as YG, WG or Platinum on me. I also try to match metals in my glass frames, cufflinks, wedding band, bracelet, belt buckle and hardware in my briefcase. Good luck with RG, as the variation is significant. The resale on RG models is also limited and the TS will give you a quot that will not be good. This is a new release and is hot, at least in talking about it, but I would not buy a PM watch with less than a 20% discount from an AD and you will still get crushed on a sale or a flip at that. I would sit tight for a while and pick this watch up pre-owned in 6 months or a year for significantly less than the current market. Better yet, I would go look at the YG version and really save. Just my thoughts. Good luck with what you decide.

On a typical Rolex PM I factored in around a 20% loss, in the old days I could get 20-30% off but then resale fell by 40% plus, I think now the ratios are probably the same, maybe not much of a discount and resale falling by 20% plus, so as ever buy the watch you want to wear the most.

No one pays full price for a solid gold Rolex -- there isn't nearly enough demand for that, and retailers order more than they want so they can get more of the popular steel models.
