Not the most exciting incoming...

Greetings humans.

Just picked this up yesterday. Not the most exciting incoming we see but I'm quite happy with it.

It all started with me wanting a tough chronograph that can take a beating. I previously had a FOIS, but didn't like the manual wind, and never really bonded with the dial. I sold it. I then had a JLC Chronograph, but found that the watch seemed a bit to fragile. I sold that one too.

So I started research tougher chronos and narrowed my selection to either the Speedmaster 57 or Tudor BB Chrono. I didn't want the regular Speedmaster given the manual wind movement. And I love the vintage tacyhmetre look. Both are great watches but I finally settled on the Tudor for the following reasons.

1) Price. Tudor is half the price of the SP57. Can't argue with that!

2) Case thickness. Both watches are thick, but the Tudor comes in about 1.5mm thinner than the SP57. Every little bit counts on my skinny wrists.

3) I've never owned a Tudor before, while I've owned several Omega's. The change of scenery was nice.

4) This watch is polarizing. Going through the forums, there's an equal number of people that hate this watch as much as those who love it. This appeals to me. I like the idea of owning a controversial piece.

5) Finally, the BB Chrono is an easy watch to get and I was able to score a decent discount at my AD as well.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this piece. Will it be a forever watch? Not sure at this point. But it does check all the boxes I was looking for in a beater chrono. My only criticism of the watch is a lack of an Easylink type bracelet adjustment, and the 45 min chrono sub-dial is kind of weird.

And what's my rambling without some pics!

Don’t sell it short with this “not the most exciting incoming” stuff! That is a badass watch. In my opinion the best bang for your buck chrono on the market. It runs on a Breitling B01 renowned movement that Tudor then enhanced. I don’t think you can get this movement for under $7k anywhere else. Also it looks awesome and with 200m water resistance it’s a chrono you don’t have to baby. Congrats! Man now I want one...

I've had the same dilemma. I prefer the 57.but can't go wrong with the Tudor in terms of quality and value.

It's a great watch, congrats!

I've had mine for a couple weeks and like it way more than the Speedy Pro I had for a while.

That has all the things the equivalent Rolex doesn't have...red text & a date. So wish the Rolex Daytona had a date like the Tudor. Have both & prefer the Tudor.

Congratulations, it's a great looking watch, one I looked at myself many years ago.

I never knew it was considered a love it / hate it type watch, personally I think it's an absolutely fantastic reference, great price, Tudor and Rolex heritage, how can you go wrong??

Enjoy and wear it in good health, gorgeous piece....

GRATS, it's a lovely piece. I've almost pulled the trigger on it a couple of times, and I still might.

I have tried it on... a few times now. I dare you to find a better value for MSRP. Built like a tank, very water resistant, great movement, solid bracelet, and old school tool watch looks.

With all that enthusiasm you have for your new watch, what's the over/under on it being in The Classified Section??

Don’t forget that it’s a heck of a movement. It’s a Breitling 01 manufacture movement little modified for half the price.

I love these too.

I actually wasn’t particularly taken with it from the pics online, then I went in to the AD to get on the BB58 list and ended up trying this on and being smitten with it.
