Which yellow gold model?
I’m getting bored reading about waitlists and rationalization for overpaying.I am a fairly basic sport model guy that likes NATO straps, so just for fun I am thinking GOLD. Wondering which of the above solid gold watches you would buy if purchasing a yellow gold model. Any owners, please post a pic.

I've owned everything on that list. The sub is, by far, the most versatile and comfortable watch in the group. So there's my vote.

I like my yellow gold sub, with black. It’s less common and a little more low key than the blue. I was certain I would get the blue, until I took a serious look at the black and thought about how and when I would feel comfortable wearing each one. This left me at the black model. For me it was the right choice. Honestly, any choice in gold will be beautiful and if it sings to you, then you know you found your watch. I’ll attach a few photos I have taken of mine.

YMII is my current favorite only because I recently purchased one. I do love my DDII though.

Been thinking the same. The wait for the 116610 LN has brought my watch savings in range for a 228238 (grail) within a reasonable 2019 timeframe. Been considering to make the move for my grail, which is readily available and sold below MRSP

The sub and DD40 are my two favorite YG.....but if I’m forced to only pick one......it’ll be this one (especially having SS sport models in the collection as well)

I would go with the Submariner, but the Rose Gold GMT (new model) would be my #1 if it was an option

Don’t get me wrong PM professionals are gorgeous but I prefer the professional references in SS as they are truer to their roots. When I think of a YG Rolex, I guess I will always associate the President DD |

Of those choices, the Sub for sure.
Yes the DD is THE YG model to pick but I know I wouldn’t wear it. The gold will be heavier so the glide lock will come in handy to get a precise fit. If a YG Daytona is an option, look at the ceramic version on Oysterflex. That would be my choice and it blew me away when I tried it on. |
