Do you look at your Rolex to tell time or your Phone?

Hey Guys! was curious to see if you guys pick up your wrist or check your phone to see the time. A lot of people I know/met check their phones because they either 1. didn't set their watch or 2. don't know how to tell time quick enough on the dial and pull the phone out because it's faster

Because I don't wear a watch all that often I'm so used to pulling out my phone that even when I have my watch on I barely use it to tell time (which is a habit I need to break honestly)

Honestly, for me it's a silly question.

I do look at my Rolex to know the time. Always there is a nagging feeling of time being a minute or two faster or slower on the watch - irrespective of the brand. Therefore, if I need accurate time, phone is a good option.

So you have more than 1 Rolex and you don't wear a watch that often? Strange, but to each their own. I use my watches to check the time as it's far more convenient than pulling my phone out of my pocket. I learned how to tell time efficiently prior to kindergarten, and fortunately for me, the skill stuck.

There’s only one way any real watch aficionado would answer this question. I never learned to check the time on my phone, I have always worn a watch that serves that purpose.

I look at my watch, it's a quicker way to tell the time and a far prettier object to look at.

Much easier to look at my watch. Plus, as Starhutch mentioned, it gives me a good reason to stare at it! :)

I've been wearing watches forever; I think the only time I look at my phone for the time is when I'm checking the watch for accuracy using NIST. If one's never worn a watch before I have to wonder about their background and age. But that's just me after wearing watches since I was about seven years of age. Welcome to the forum; you'll get the hang of telling time on your watch before too long. You might try an Apple Watch as an intermediate step. Keep at it you'll get the hang of it.

While in the mall, I was browsing the web on my phone while waiting for my wife and daughter, who were shopping. My daughter came up to me and asked me what time it was. I put down my phone and checked my watch, and told her. She said she found it really interesting that I was already on my phone but I still looked at my watch to check the time.

I own a few yes but the work I do is very heavy machinery based and could very well destory a watch in seconds so I only wear my Rolex on the weekends when I'm going out these days. When I was younger I would wear my watch daily

For everyone saying this is a dumb topic I apologize. I'm really new here and was interested in starting conversations with the community, I guess I crapped out.

But in all honesty a lot of people with Watches don't ever set their watch to the time and just pull out their phones so that's why I asked, I'll make sure to think of a better topic next time I promise. And if any mods want to delete this topic please feel free

Edit: my phone is autocorrecting like hell today I fixed 3 errors in the past hour

Hey, don't worry. If you think heavy equipment is hard on a watch you can do as much or worse damage to a cell phone. Rolex watches have done it all. Generally speaking, over thinking is the biggest reason not to wear a rugged watch,

I completely understand, but my cell phone was only $450 and my Rolex watches are anywhere from $10,000 to $38,000 so yeah I'll take the chance with the phone not the watch LOL

My watch. It's much more convenient to look down at my wrist to see the time than to go look and try to remember where I last left my cell phone....
