What do you guys think about this sub?
Hi guys...
What do you think about this Sub? It is a M series including everything but the certificate "to protect identity of prior owner"... is this practice usual? The guy sells watches, so I am pretty sure it is not a scam... pictures are not too good, but I have seen worse :)          Thanks for your feedback! |

For a watch dealer, these are really grainy pics. It looks authentic from the poor photos, but so do a lot of high dollar fakes. I have never heard of withholding the certificate to protect the identity of the original owner. This is one I would really want to inspect closely before I handed over the cash.

Why make such a disclosure if you are not going to include it in the sale. They should just sharpie the name out, it is a "warranty card."
You could also ask him to post a picture of the card with the name of the owner blocked out... |

About the only thing I can see is that the rehaute engraving looks correct but the pix are atrocious for someone seriously trying to sell this item. I would need better pix to pass this one as ok.

Looks ok to me however the pics are awful, that coupled w/ the odd comment about the original owner....you'd better have it looked at.

Just for future reference... Who is actually being protected? Is it really the seller who doesn't want the original owner contacting the police to say he's found his watch?

I have seen that done, in other legitimate sales, with a high profile person not wanting any of their personal information getting out to the general public. The information can be blacked out as suggested. This is ridiculous when people do this but, some are very paranoid about any information getting out about them.
