Just got into watches and I think I bought a fake? Help!
So i recently bought an AP on ebay for very cheap. It did not come with any papers, but the guy I purchased the watch from had very high feedback. he said it was authentic, but he got it as a gift from a friend. I was scrolling through the rest of ebay and found a clone watch that had the same serial number and case number as the watch that i purchased. Would this mean the watch i purchased is either fake or a clone watch as well. any information would help greatly. thanks!
i was planning on taking it to a specialist but i figured to try this fourm first because google didnt have much info on this. |

Well NO genuiine SWISS watches have duplicate serial numbers
So if you found another AND its on a replica site I strongly suspect fake! Did you try googling the serial number? PM me it and I can run a check OR Post photo of watch movement (hacked) A

Sure, Gladiator, buy an AP from ebay, cheap, with a story like that and think it's not fake? I think you've used that hammer too many times on yourself, sonny. If you're going to disagree, use a better argument than an emoji if you actually have substantive feedback to provide in criticism of my view. Words, use words. Discourse. Now, permit me...

I'm always concerned whenever I hear that somebody received a gift of a multi-thousand dollar watch from a "friend".
I have some pretty well-heeled friends and giving away expensive watches is a mighty rare occurrence. Of course, in this case, multiple like-serials tells us the rest of the story.

Scumbags always use one serial number for thousands of watches if I were you I would start return process immediately with eBay and next time @when it’s too good to true” rule applies.

Always good to do a tineye search on the images, google the seller by name and email address and search the serial number.

Start your return immediately with eBay. And then if you paid with PayPal, you have another buyer protection there. Having the same serial number as another watch should be proof for counterfeit goods

What do you mean a "clone" watch?
You mean you found another auction on eBay from a different seller, same watch, same serial #? Why not post some pics of said watch and let the experts provide feedback? |
