Mayors Galleria Mall: Fort Lauderdale

Went in this afternoon to put my name on the list for a Hulk. The sales woman was less then friendly and informed me I would need to get on the “list”. Here are some things I learned about this list:
1. It’s a Mayors company wide list and not specific to the store.
2. Absolutely no deposits can be taken on any watch.
3. Once a watch comes in they go down the list until someone commits to buy and they have one business day to complete purchase.
4. According to this sales woman there is no timeframe or estimate she can provide.

All pretty much standard operating procedure. In my opinion a complete waste of time. I think I would rather just pay a grey market premium and get the watch on my wrist the next day (PS: I’ve owned this watch twice via grey and will most likely go for round 3). These AD’s are doomed. There inventory is rubbish. What are they doing in that store all day if there’s no Rolex to sell?

We get the same BS over the pond this way, but I would get on list, anyway.
If you can source one at OK price Grey, then enjoy wearing it in the meantime.
If your number comes up?!? (not sure thats the correct term!) with one at msrp (after the long wait!) you can always move the other one on....

Just go grey.
Big spenders and VIPs will always skip the line

Go up the road to JR Dunn. Worth a shot. Mayors is a chain and they’ll pull yours.

Yes sir. And I’ve also had the wonderful experience of the 116619LB, Explorer ii and GMT Master ii Twice. Creature of habit I guess.

I would ask them to add you to the list for the Spider-Man and Green Lantern and see what happens...

This is a bit odd. Why do you keep buying and seling the same exact model?

Maybe I’m just an odd kind of gentleman? I can tell you one thing, along with the Hulk, Mr Smurf is in it for round three as well. I really do think three times is a charm.

My guess was going to be a bit along the lines of you don’t really love the watch as much as you think and are after the thrill of buying more than anything else. But to each his own! Happy hunting!

They sell them to a trusted seller for more than they are allowed to sell to you ( in actual dollars or by also unloading slow sellers) and you buy it for even more from the trusted seller....I guess you showed them who's boss.

If you knew this was standard operating procedure, and you went there to put your name on the list regardless, why be upset about it? They seem to have told you what you and most of us already know, but you *choose* to be mad about it. A lot of that going around lately.

Just curious: how do you feel about the guy that was pissed that the AD texted him minutes after he left the store that they found the watch he wanted?

Flash your Amex Centurion card and say "I'll take a Platinum Daytona please. Will that move me to the top?"

LOL I know the Mayors store well and I have a friend that is a VVIP with them. They are one of the largest, if not the largest, Rolex Chain AD in the country... They have people spending obscene amounts of money with them. They don’t care if you buy a watch from them or not. My friend has never been on a “list” and gets a call whenever a hot model comes in. I’m not saying what they are doing is right, it’s just what the Rolex market is now.

Pay to play the game. :(

Edit: a YouTuber that lives in Florida even made a video about how the AD calls their VIP list first before even touching the “regular” list. It’s sad but true.

Not mad at all. Was just bored and stopped by the local AD after the Apple store. I have no delusions of actually being called on that list. I prefer to do business with a trusted seller.

Dime a dozen down here. Even I have one of those nifty black Centurian cards. Mayors lady doesn’t care about my card.

Then we need to convince Warren Buffett what a gold mine this Rolex monopoly is and get him to add the entire Mayors chain to the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio. Then maybe he'll send a few Pepsis and Daytonas our way as a referral fee. Gotta think big.

Do you want to really know about the list at Mayors? If I call the gentleman there that I have dealt with for years and ask for a watch I would have it very quickly. There is no official list.
