Stabbed to death by a woman 37 years younger at a hotel where they checked in at 2:00am.

What a bizarre set of circumstances for what seems to be a real stand up man and asset to the community. Terrible.

I hope they catch this woman and find out circumstances and motive, and of course serve the swift hand of justice.

In light of the crime he suffered, I don't think his prior conduct really matters. Further, they don't need a motive to convict her for 2nd degree murder.

That's a horrible thing to happen.

In my day, Treme and Ursulines was one corner you would not be want to be at 2:00am.

I used to live about three blocks from there, but New Orleans is one of those cities where three blocks can mean the difference between relatively safe and being in the pit of hell.

Another problem is that the city and businesses don't do an adequate job of informing tourists about the dangers that anyone faces by simply taking a wrong turn.

My condolences to all who have been affected by this crime.

It makes me very angry that a piece of garbage that has never contributed anything to society can take the life of a valuable citizen with absolutely no remorse.
It's why I am a big fan of Capital Punishment.

Agree used to go every year and feel less and less comfortable. Now it's much less. See way to many bad situations even had to square up against someone accosting women (i never do that) i left a day after that horrific mass shooting on Burbon right under the awning i was perched on at the Bourbon Orleans. Still my favorite City in the world but i can't take my family there till they do something.

I've been in one of his shops, by the giant Cabela's on I-78. The Hamburg store. Great establishment.

Rest his soul. Great store he had. The "one that got away" was there. A 5-digit "leftover" salmon-dialed AirKing Precision, $2950 out the door, full warranty. Went back a couple months later and it was gone.

The room is giant, no supports, 40' vaulted ceiling I think I recall. They must put something in the air because all of your senses say buy, Buy, BUY.

No use speculating on motive. And I'm too polite to tell you what I think of someone who would murder for a little drug money.

This is all over the news here, and so far have yet to figure the connection between the lady and the victim... bizarre, but sadly, not uncommon for my birth city, of late. Cops are on every corner of the FQ at night, but Treme is outside that circle.
