Been gone a couple of years ... observations

I’ve been “out of the loop” a couple of years and was happy with my one DSSD Cameron edition. Walked past a few AD’s but never really stopped in. Back in the loop now and here are my (obvious) observations :
1) the economy is so good now that every AD is sold out of every sport model
2) The above has caused nice appreciation across the line.
3) All previous generation sport models have skyrocketed in value in the resale market. Like 100% in some cases , especially the GMT’s.

That pretty much sums it up. You forget that the grey market is about the only place to find high demand pieces and they go for obscene mark-ups!!!!

Must be a shock if you've been away for a couple of years, but same thing is happening with Goyard and various trendy x collabs, lots of money looking for these high-status products, esp when their retails are far below the market prices.

4) Little traffic at TZ Rolex sub forum

You're back a little late, I was out for many years and got back just in time before the Rolex hell freeze and got a few new pieces thanked to the AD "relationship". Good luck getting SS sport from AD.

Don't forgot 1a) the shortage has launched a million conspiracy theories about Rolex's ability or inability to meet demand, whether it's a devious strategic choice to further stoke demand, etc.

Same here, was out of the market for a long time. Came back since I had saved up for what I wanted only to find it (and nothing else) is available. I spent my budget on other nice watches instead. Next time Rolex... I promise
