I’m in the same dilemma here.

What do you guys think?

It’s also my first Rolex.

I just don’t like the GMT bracelet.

Another GMT vote here.

I love mine and the fact it can go perfectly with a suit as much as a T-shirt makes it a winner for me.

Go with an Explorer II. Date, GMT complications for 8K.

I’d go for the Explorer. Such a classy sexy watch. Great size and i love the slimmer lugs compared to the GMT.

I’m in the minority here, but I love the explorer. Both great watches, but the explorer would be my choice.

Thanks for all the advice. Now very glad that I picked up the GMT 2 weeks ago after only a 4 week wait as it is now discontinued.

Both are beautiful, though I will note that one is 2x the price of the other (GMT LN prices have gone nuts). If you're ok paying that, the GMT is a fantastic first piece. If not, I can promise the Explorer is no slouch either.

The black GMT is such an underrated watch. Its ver versatile with the black bezel and PCLs. Dresses up or down easily. That would be my choice far and away.
