Anyone like the new Triumph Speed Twin?

Anyone else like the new Triumph speed twin? It has such a cool look and feels very comfortable. It looks and feels similar to the Thruxton with bars that are a little more upright.

Looks gorgeous.

I’m not a motorcycle guy. But this thing could motivate me to change that.

I swore off motorcycles about 8 years ago. I had owned 3. For some reason, I've started to miss it lately. As for this bike, I wouldn't be very interested in a windscreen-less bike again. I had a 2002 Suzuki SV650 rather similar to this and the wind fatigue got old after awhile. If I had to get something today, it might be something like the BMW F800GT below. Comfy, capable, just the right options. Similar to the 2009 Suzuki GSX650F I had last, but with more tech and comfort.

I went for the Speedmaster. Laid back cruising is more my thing, and they look so much cooler too.

Reminds me of my old 500 Tiger. Loved that bike. Glad Triumph made a comeback. Traded it for a Norton 850 Commando. Wish I still had both.

I had a Commando 850 mk2 in 1977 - one of the last made. I had a terrible job selling it a couple of years later and it eventually sold for £425!! (worth £10,000 plus now)

If I was going to get another bike, it'd be a Triumph Tiger 1200. I love the Triumph Trophy SE for distance touring, but I have the BMW K1600GTL for that.

It’s a very cool bike, and I too agree the riding comfort would be fantastic. I test rode a Bonneville last year and found it to be a blast to ride; very tossable. I imagine it would be the same with the Speed Twin.

Triumph makes very good motorcycles, the fit and finish are superior. I’ve always wanted one for the cafe style, just haven’t had enough motivation to pull the trigger on a mid-size like this. My 1200gs has forever spoiled my appetite for other motorcycles. 😄

This is a big change from their former life. I'm very happy to hear this. Back in the day my Tiger would leak oil all the time. Had that engine apart at least a dozen times but could never get it sealed. We finally decided it was just poor dimensional fit. Still loved that bike.

Those days are gone, although I have a friend who still likes to refer to mine as "the oil leak."

I sold my motorcycle a few years ago and never looked back. However, they have been catching my eye lately. Might have to jump back down this rabbit hole!
