6263 Subdial Material

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the subdials on a 6263 are made of, or at least what the top coating is? I have a black dial with silver subdials, and the subdials look to be tarnished. After removing a totalizer hand and taking a fiberglass scratch brush in a light circular motion, I've been able to remove the tarnish/staining, but I am hoping that there is another method to clean the subdials that is not so...abrasive and damaging. Thanks in advance for any help!

I would suggest you leave it to a professional. The watch is worth too much to attempt this yourself. I can assure you you will devalue the watch more than a watchmaker will charge you.
