If you are well versed in vintage Rolex The Diamond District on 47th may afford you some opportunities to acquire vintage watches, unfortunately if you're not you may have a poor experience in that there are a number of unscrupulous dealers on 47th.

Not many walk-in store fronts, but there are dealers around. What are you looking for?

Aaron Faber, Analog Shift as some have said, also Watches of Switzerland in Soho were carrying about two display cases full of Analog Shift vintage pieces. I think Material Good (also in SoHo) May have some vintage pieces too. Andrew Shear (Sheartime) is worth reaching out to in advance to see what he has; although unless your pretty serious he’s not likely to let you come by and just play with them.

Are you just browsing or looking for something specific?

I strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about doing business with Faber to search on this fine forum for background/history. A lot of it is not good.

Their prices are high and knowledge low I agree.

You find these kind of people everywhere.

I sold a red sub and gilt PCG 5512 through them in 2015 with no problems.

They tried usual nonsense. Called asking if I’d shave 1000 of my end to make a deal. Said no. Of course it sold anyway. Had to be proactive about if it was sold and to have my money ready but that is everywhere.

Same 5512 I was told by Anitqorum “expert” would only auction for 8 to 10 grand sold through Faber for 30 plus. You have to know your stuff and not rely too much on these types of people in the vintage world.

John Cristicello of Alltiques, founded in 1983 right in the bowery, I believe he is at 88 Bowery now. Lots to see. John gets in, in the afternoon.
