Size and movement. I think the date has the 2235? The Datejust has the 3135.

Also different case size: Datejust is 36mm and Date is 34 mm.
In this picture you can see my gold Date (left) and steel (gold bezel) Datejust for comparison.
Best regards.
Abel

Nope, my date is quick set. It's a 2002/3 model. Not sure if the earlier one were though.

Greck: my pleasure. Glad you liked the pix.

SLS: Both of my watches are non quick set, being the Date just made in 1981, and the Date in 1982. Both have the coronet underlined on the winding crown.
I guess modern Dates are quick set, but not sure.
Regards, Abel

The case size on the DateJust although advertised as 36mm is in fact 35mm.

I remember reading a TRF thread with a link to model case sizes.

i have a Date 15210, quickset U serial *1997. I believe all Date, Sub, Seadweller, Datejust Models after 1988 are 3135 Cal. Movements; prior to that i believe the 3035 was used. Therefore, the fundamental difference between date and datejust would be a 2mm size difference.

hope this helps.

Both my Date and Datejust have 3135 movements. The 2 mm size differences is it. However, I believe the Datejust may be offered in more styles than the Date.
