Will Rolex Service Watch Without Bracelet?
Hey Everyone! I’ve been looking a lot at some Vintage Rolex Datejust on websites like HqMilton and Bobs Watches and have seen some really nice examples that come with aftermarket leather straps which I’m alright with depending on the price. But I was wondering if time to service would Rolex Service just the head of the watch? Thanks!

Of course they will. But it would be much safer to take a vintage watch to an independent for servicing (and save money).

I just sent my vintage 1675 GMT to Rolex Service Center in Dallas. I gave them specific instructions on what I wanted done (and not done) to the watch. They did just as I asked and serviced it wonderfully. I sent only the watch head itself (no bracelet/strap).

Yes, there's no issue with sending in a watch without a bracelet.

Depends on where you are... In my experience there doesn't seem to be a consistent worldwide policy among RSCs and ADs.
In Japan they won't let you request anything - you have to agree to servicing exactly as they say, or else they won't do it. For example, you can't request a movement-only service. Bye bye vintage parts and watch value... Conversely, in the UK and the USA I've had ADs sell me loose bracelets and parts. Not cheap, but exactly as requested. Mileage varies. |
