In this Rolex market, you have to go PM as SS is way overpriced. At $40k, you can get a great PM at a discount and have some coin left over. I would go something in Everose.

a lot of people recommending pateks, with 40k budget maybe can get you a 5167a from grey but there are far more options if stay within Rolex. I would suggest an oyster flex Daytona from trusted seller and save the change.

So many great options at 40k. Between those two, I prefer the Daytona.
Otherwise, I'd suggest WG GMT.

I have a BLNR Oyster, a current model Sub date and a 216570 Black.

Should I get a Smurf or a WG Daytona?

Choices!
Would always choose a Patek over a PM Rolex

(other than solid yellow gold sub or yellow gold GMT which fit in the PUNCH category.. but daytona PM is just a dress watch, Patek all the way pls...)

You can get one of these, and still have some cash left over, for a nice trip to show it off...

A trip around the world First Class without stopping at a Rolex AD. Your wife will love you for it and besides, they don't have anything anyway. I'm jealous!
