In 2005 I bought a new 39mm Omega Railmaster on a strap.
The price was good and it was bought with a specific roll in my collection in mind, plus it is and will remain my only Co-axial.

The watch has performed flawlessly in its intended roll and it has grown on me through it's inherent virtues to surpass any preconceived ideas I ever had as to it value as a stand alone timepiece

I don’t need the chrono so much in vacation as I need during the work week and also no use for the date.

So in sum, it was really finding the best spot in the rotation for the Daytona. For me it would never be a daily wearer and was leading to my dissatisfaction with it. Once I found its spot, I have been much happier with it.

Cool story. Had almost same story with the exact same watch. In fact, I'm wearing mine right now

The Rolex submariner, when I fell in love with Rolex I was only interested in the Date Just TT, it was my grail for years, then I got a 16610 and I did not like it, very simple, I bought a 116610 and I get caught, there's no turning back for me, I'm only interested in the Rolex divers, I bought the SD43 and now I want the DSSD to complete the trio. The SD43 is each day more beautiful for me and the SubC will be with me all my lifestime I hope.

My Air-King. First Rolex purchase and it brings a big smile to my face every time I look down at it. I know it’s not a TRF fan favorite, but I could care less. To each their own !

Agree wholeheartedly. My first was a fan favourite, but moreover it was my favourite, and a life goal.

The Milgauss was after I got the bug from the first, a little bit of a tactical purchase to keep me in the AD’s mind, and although it’s not a “hot piece” it now shares equal wrist time with the original purchase.

Also, I really like the Air King, and of there’d been one in the AD when I picked up the Milgauss, would have had a bit of a decision to make for sure.

Initially bought the 34mm OP as an everyday work watch that would fly under the radar as my others are somewhat flashy. The more I wear it the more I love it. Really a watch that one could buy as a young man and wear everyday for his entire life. Robust and with a ton of class.

The Explorer. I tried it on at the AD in April and liked it, but decided to pass. It was still there a week later so I tried it on again and it came home with me.
