the word iconic is mayne not right but I am looking to buy a Panerai but was not able to decide so far.

some say Pam233 and other say Pam372

what do you guys think

the design of 232 looks just perject but I guess it is big for my wrist.
I wish they had 44mm of the same design

IMO - the 232

@legedema but there is. Look for the 210, it’s in 45MM however, the dial is black and silver hands. Same movement as 233 though, OP X 56 hours power reserve manual winding.

I would say that the 372 was the most "popular" withe the general public. Although I would say the 232 is more accurate with the original ones.

I'd say the most iconic regular production model is the 372. The 233 is a fan favorite because it was one of, if not the first, to have an in-house movement. It's got a more manageable size, but has the 1950s case and domed crystal that the 372 has. The complications however are not classic and if anything the dial is a little bit busy for a Panerai. I'd say the 233 is a modern icon, but the 371 is a classically-styled icon.

As far as Radiomirs, the 232 tends to be the fan favorite for all the reasons people like the 372.

If you want something more pre-vendome, the 000 and 005 are the classics in that respect.

You may be able to get a solid 15-20% discount on either reference from an AD. Panerai specific boutiques however will not offer any discount. They might throw in an extra strap. I love the 233, but I do think it is a bit overpriced (though most Panerai are). It can be had on the secondary market for a lot less. Right now prices on the 372 are a steal. You can almost get a used one at half price. I paid 5k for my 372. The lowest I've seen 233s has been 7-8k used.

This my size and I rock a 47mm destro 1950 (368), as well as 47mm 1940 radiomir and 44mm luminor and 45mm pin cushion radiomir.

If you like simple dials and want a single Luminor I like the 390.... if you like complications I would go with a 233 dot... both would require for you to buy pre owned.

I took me many years before I really considered a 47mm. Definitely bigger but can be totally manageable with you wrist size

That's the 1950 aka "fiddy" limited edition from 2002. If I recall the original price was around $6500 and they later sold on the secondary market for $25K.

So glad a passed on that watch when it came out because it was too expensive at $6500! lol

It's a fantastic watch and one I've always wanted! I wish Panerai would make it again with everything the same except an in house 8 day movement.
