AD’s Calling You

I keep reading posts that AD’s are calling you about timepieces received in inventory. I have spoken to 6 AD’s in 3 different cities in Florida and all of them stated they do not keep a list of customers to contact and will not take deposits. Of the 6, I have a long standing relationship with one AD and they are telling me the same thing and there was a time they would call me, but now they have a strict rule and will not call customers. What am I missing from those of you still receiving calls from a US market?

No clue - I get calls / texts from my AD pretty regularly. But then again - we’re friends. And the conversations are about a lot more than watches.

Looks for the AD thats closest to the Asian area...try them. Unless your looking for a daytona or a new gmt 2 i feel like they will work with you.

I get email or text from AD. Couple of weeks ago it was a voice call to tell me my SubC was in.

If they are not calling and not putting the sought after watches in the display, they are waiting for the customers to walk in and ask? If my AD were to do that, I would not have gotten the last 3 watches I bought from them.

How do you get women to call you?

Seriously though - how many watches have you bought from said AD?

There is no universal rule against this - if they really have that rule then it’s just that store.

I only get calls about the watches I ask for. I’ve known my SA for many years and he knows I have no desire to buy every reference for FOMO.
Every AD is different but in my opinion, if one tells you they don’t keep lists, and barely get any watches, that really just means you are not getting one from them.

AD’s Calling You

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I have been searching for a SS/Pepsi and Daytona. I just found it odd that almost all are stating the same language about calling customers and not maintaining a customer call-back list, including the AD that I have a solid relationship with. As suggested, it may be just a change with this particular store because I use to get calls from them, but my contact told me privately they stopped calling customers.

Perhaps Biscotti is correct and I’m not that important to them after buying only 4 timepieces including a Sub, Hulk, James Cameron SD and Batman. I was given a tip though when to come in and check on new stock, but no more calls.

Ahhhhhh, you didn't purchase any PM or less desirable pieces, that's maybe why they stopped calling.
