Several points I noticed:
1. hands are gold.
2. it's got luminova so the dial is relatively new - dial has "SWISS" signature so I think it was replaced in late 90's. The hands are original - lume has all faded.
3. from the serial number 51xxxxx, making it approx 1977 vintage?
4. calibre is 1575 (from RSC service report)
5. the 14k gold looks more fitting to steel look than 18k (to me anyway).

Last, I'd like to thank John for a flawless transaction
Hope we'll meet soon.

Very cool!
I never have seen one before.
I thought it was a quartz from just looking at it
before seeing the dial and reading the rest of the thread.

I want a SS Quartz.... (I guess I just don't want to pay what
I see them on Ebay for yet...)

Hey Kai

That's an absolute STUNNER... wear it with pride...

I can't believe you had the self-control to wait and take pics BEFORE ripping open the box and bubble-wrap!!! You must have the patience of a Saint...

Quick way to tell the difference between quartz and perpetual is the oyster/quartz has 2-rows of gold and the oyster/perpetual has all 3 center links in gold.
Congrats its not only a rare watch but its in outstanding condition.

Quite right. This is one of those "little secrets", and a quick way of telling whether the bracelet has been switched/changed from the original.

The bracelet also has a unique number 96673.

Thank you for the flawless and timely transaction.

See you in a month.

John.

It's a real beauty. The pictures don't do it justice. You know, I owned it for a few years, but only wore it a couple of times.

I'm happy that it arrived safely.

Wear it in good health. I'm coming up in a month, so maybe I can have a look at it again.

John.
That figures - when the photos came up I was about to write, "Hey, John's got one of those".
